The responsibilities of a Parish Nurse (PN) is to serve the church by providing a comprehensive nursing ministry to the congregation.  This ministry may include but is not limited to: monitoring blood pressure, providing educational programs concerning health through classes, newsletters, and bulletin boards.  An invaluable part of the Health Ministry Team is a Congregation Health Advocate (CHA) who is not a licensed nurse, but is also interested in the health and well-being of others.  Other activities of a PN or CHA is to provide basic first aid, arrange for emergency medical services during worship and other event gatherings, coordinate an annual Red Cross blood drive, schedule and conduct First Aid and CPR classes.

This is a great ministry that can be applied to every age group of any congregation.   The size of a congregation is no issue.   If you are interested in receiving more information about this ministry, contact Joyce Polster by email.
