Save the date! Senior adults from Lutheran churches in the Greater Austin area have been gathering for over 15 years for a day of fellowship, learning, and good food. Host churches alternate between Missouri Synod churches and ELCA churches in the Austin area. It’s a great way to reconnect to longtime friends and exercise the brain cells. All are invited – any age or denomination, so invite friends.
Keynote Speaker is Chaplain Don Muchow speaking on this year’s theme “Thriving in a Changing World”.

2016 CPE Spring Internship program
January 11 – July 7, 2016
This is a part-time, 26-week program designed for parish clergy and qualified laypersons. This internship is designed to provide significant learning experiences to enhance pastoral care skills and knowledge for parish ministry or other settings. This comprehensive clinical setting consists of Baylor St. Luke’s, a large premier adult hospital specializing in cardiology and pulmonology medicine, plus Texas Children’s Hospital, a nationally-renowned pediatric hospital.
Basic program requirements include:
- Thursdays (8:00am – 3:00pm) – Seminar day
- On-Call Duty – Two (2) 12-hour responsibilities per month; 12 On-call duties during the program
- “Routine” Ministry – 6 hours per week; ministry can be conducted at our CHI suburban hospitals in metropolitan area or in the Medical Center
- Orientation Week (January 11 – 14, 8:00am-5:00pm) – Required of all new Interns.
- Tuition -- $350.00
- Applications Due – December 15

We have four fifteen-foot pews for anyone who can use them. They are made of particle-board with laminate overlay, dark brown in color, with red cushion on the seats. They are disassembled for ease in transport.

Immanuel, Giddings is replacing their pews and would love to contribute the current pews to any mission or even estalbished congregation.
